Schoolwide Argument-Writing System

Our schoolwide instructional focus was argument writing. I led teacher leaders in developing standards-aligned rubrics across content areas through multiple iterations, classroom testing, and revision based on evidence in student work. The rubric shown here is the resulting version.
I then designed the supporting system that made the standard operational: student folders and a common cover sheet that allowed teachers and students to track performance and next steps across prompts and marking periods. That system appears on the second page below.

Each marking period, students revisited this sheet to review performance across claim, elaboration, organization, and conventions and to identify a concrete next step.
